Thank you to all of the competitors and fans who joined us for a great day of racing at the Fernan Frenzy today. We had a great day of community rowing and exciting events!

Please see below for the posted results.

With my apologies, the times for bow numbers 25 and 26 are reversed. My tired old eyes couldn't make it out.

We will see you again next year!

Fernan Frenzy - 2018

We are one week away from Race Day and hoping to see lots of you there! Below is a little bit of information you will need to make the experience more enjoyable and avoid getting in trouble with our friendly neighborhood police!

Coxswains and Coaches Meeting is set for 7:15 AM. Prior to that, the area around our docks will be a flurry of activity as visiting Crews get their boats ready to row. You are certainly welcome to observe these activities, but please leave them space for their boats and room to work! Racing should start about 8 AM if all goes well.

Parking at the Fernan Docks is limited. If you park in the slots designated for boat trailers and you don't have a boat trailer or the required parking pass, you WILL get a ticket! Please park on the streets near to the parking lot (being respectful of our neighbors!) and walk on down...it's supposed to be a pleasant morning.

The best viewing for racing activities will be along Fernan Lake Drive. However, parking along that road is also very limited and traffic can be a bit heavy. We would like to ask that you consider carpooling / shuttling down to the best viewing spots. We will have a Parking Lot Coordinator that should be able to help with this.

Racing will be along a 1000 meter course starting at the house 1/2 down the lake on the north side and ending at the last dock before the houses. Please see the attached photo here. Anywhere along that course that you can safely park and exit your vehicle will be a great place to see the race!

Parents, please remember that your kids are there to focus on their race and may or may not be super glad to see you. Please forgive them for that, they still love you, but with that in mind we recommend you bring comfy chairs and maybe even a good book to read as their can be a lull in the action from time to time.

Lastly, please leave your pets at home! The staging area is busy with a lot of activity and very expensive equipment. Fido may be a big racing fan, but he's going to be in the way on Saturday and frankly, he'll be safer at home as well.

If I can answer any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

FERNAN FRENZY BREAKFAST, SNACKS and LUNCH!!

Hello CDA Rowing Masters, Juniors, Parents and Friends,

If you will be participating in and/or attending the 2018 Fernan Frenzy on Saturday, July 28th, we would like to invite you to bring a salad, chips or dessert for ten to share with participating crews and attending family members. Plates, napkins and utensils will be provided. If you are unable to bring something to share - no worry, please join us - there will be plenty of nourishment for everyone. See below for the breakdown for the "potluck portion" of our celebration.

If I could get a couple of parents to help with the managing of the food tent that would be great! We need one more "pop up tent" and a couple of tables. Please email me at lawyerannie@yahoo.com or call/text at 208.691.6855.

This is our new friend Pam. We were approached by one of the mom's on our Junior Team asking if we could help fulfill a Bucket List wish for Pam who has Stage 4 cancer in a couple of different forms.

Pam had always wanted to row so today we made here an honorary member of our Junior Team and took her out on the water.

We feel truly blessed to be able to offer our new friend an opportunity to experience an early morning row on Fernan Lake. Thank you to the wonderful young people on our Junior Team who treated her like a member of the family today.

You all lived up to every word of our mission this morning. I'm proud of you.

Novice Rowing Season for Junior Rowers

The Coeur d'Alene Rowing Association is pleased to announce the addition of a Novice Rowing Season for the summer of 2018. This is an opportunity for beginning rowers in our Junior Program to have focused practice time and coaching with other rowers at or near their skill level.

Novice Rowing is open to all High School rowers who have either completed the recent Learn to Row Camp or who wish to learn to row during the summer season. Practice times will be from 8:30 to 11:00 AM, Monday thru Thursday for the summer.

Advancement from the Novice Rowing Program will be at the discretion of the Head Coach during the summer months, culminating in all Novice Rowers advancing to the regular team practices at the start of the school year.

Please be aware that new Junior / High School rowers will not be accepted after the start of the school year in order to allow our team to focus on getting ready for their Head Race season. This will be the last Learn to Row opportunity for High School age rowers for the 2018 season.

If you are interested or need more information, please contact Tom Hamilton at president@cdarowing.org.

See you on the water!

Fernan Frenzy and Nelson Sprints

Good afternoon Rowers, Parents and Friends

We have two regattas coming up in just over a month so it's time to start thinking about boats and entries!

The Fernan Frenzy is set for July 28th at Fernan Lake. This is our home friendly regatta and entries are open to all Junior and Masters rowers.

The Nelson Sprints are August 12th in Nelson, BC and is also open to all Juniors and Masters (subject to Coach's approval for the Juniors).

Juniors - both events are now up on on Team Stuff. Please check-in for both in the next few days if you are planning on going so that Coach can start looking at line-ups.

Masters - please let me know of any planned entries for either event. For Fernan Frenzy, we will be setting the heats / races so we just need to know what entries to plan for. With Nelson, we submit all of our entries as a club, so I need a final list in the next few weeks to get us entered.

Parents - don't forget to look at hotels and passports for Nelson if you haven't done so already.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

See you on the water!
